✅ Real NZ companies usually end with “Limited” or “Ltd”
❌ Be cautious if the company name ends in “Pte Ltd” — that’s a Singaporean format, not New Zealand.
2. Unreasonably High Hourly Pay for Low-Skilled Jobs
For example: If a job like “yard worker” or “cleaner” offers $40/hour, it’s likely fake.
Normal rates are around $23–$27/hour for such roles. Too good to be true? It probably is.
3. Huge “Service Fees” for a Job Offer
⚠️ No legitimate NZ employer or agent should charge you $10,000–$20,000 just for a job.
✅ Approved recruiters may charge small placement fees, but not massive ones. Check the license.
4. No Interview or Skill Check Required
If someone offers you a job without even talking to you or checking your CV or skills – red flag!
Real employers want to talk, test, or at least meet you on Zoom before offering a contract.

Be careful if your “contract” is missing:
- Company’s NZBN (NZ Business Number)
- Work location and job title
- Pay rate and hours
- Signatures from both parties
